President-elect Donald Trump announced Friday that Tammy Bruce, a former Fox News contributor, will join his State Department later this month as the spokesperson under his nominee for Secretary of State, Senator Marco Rubio.

“It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will be joining our incredible nominee for United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Bruce, who left Fox News on Friday, had been a contributor to the network since 2005 and is also the author of several books. A Fox News spokesperson confirmed her departure and praised her contributions to the network.

“Tammy Bruce has been an extremely valued contributor at FOX News Media for nearly 20 years, and we wish her all the best in her new role,” the spokesperson told The Hill.

Trump lauded Bruce as a “highly respected political analyst” and credited her with recognizing what he described as the “lies and fraud of the Radical Left.”

He further highlighted her experience as a liberal community organizer and her efforts to counter what he called the “leftist agenda.”

According to her Fox News biography, Bruce was a registered Democrat until 2008 and worked on several left-leaning political campaigns in the 1990s.
